Under Road Traffic (Use of Expressway By Excluded Vehicles) Rules 2010, no excluded vehicles shall be driven or allowed to be on any part of an expressway. However, an authorisation may be granted to excluded vehicles to travel along the expressway on occasions deemed fit by the Authority.
How to Apply
The applicant is required to fill in the application form that comprises of section A, B
and C.

The estimated processing time for the permit will be 3 working days upon receipt of the completed application form, with all supporting documents. You may apply for permits from Mondays to Fridays (excluding public holidays). Applications received after 5pm on a weekday, on a weekend or a public holiday will be processed the next working day. The approved permit will be faxed/emailed to the applicant.

Points to Note for Excluded Vehicles
- Excluded vehicles are not allowed to enter any expressway tunnel or tunnel slip road.
- Excluded vehicles with permits are not allowed to travel on expressways during peak hours from 7.00am to 9.30am and 5.00pm to 9.30pm, unless special authorization is granted for travel during this period.
- When travelling on expressways, the permit must be readily available in the vehicle for checks by LTA at all times.
- If the height of the vehicle/trailer exceeds 4.50 metres, Auxiliary Police escort is required. For more information, please refer to Height Limit for Heavy Vehicles.
- If the overall width of the motor vehicle/trailer or load exceeds 2.6 metres, application has to be made to:
